January 23, 2011 – Morning Worship
Monday – Matthew 7:7-11; Matthew 5; Psalm 15
How can we live like we see in these passages? What’s the key?
Tuesday – II Chronicles 7:11-22; Psalm 142; James 5:13-18
See the importance and centrality of prayer in the lives of God’s people. How important is prayer to you?
Wednesday – Luke 6:12; 11:1-13; 18:1-8; 22:39-46
Both by example and teaching, Jesus encourages us to pray. To persist in prayer and not lose heart – how do we do that?
Thursday – Amos 4; James 4:2; Matthew 7:7-8
Amos and James say that we “do not ask”, “do not return to the Lord.” Jesus says in Matthew 7:7-8 (6 times!) that prayer makes a difference, i.e. is answered. Where’s the problem? Does prayer make a difference?
Friday – Exodus 17:8-13; Daniel 9:23; 10:12; Romans 15:30-32; II Corinthians 1:10-11; Ephesians 6:18-20
Clearly the saints in the Bible believed that faithfulness in prayer resulted in God answering and giving us what we need. Do you believe that?
Saturday – Matthew 6:10; 7:9-11; John 14:13-14; 16:24; Psalm 119:67-71; I Timothy 6:6-10; James 1:2-4
Does God really give us whatever we ask? Do we really want Him to give us whatever we ask?
