One writer said “Simeon is a picture of a true believer”; how is he an example for all believers?

Simeon saw Jesus, i.e. salvation, and was ready to die. How does that apply to today? Who does it apply to? Does it apply to you?
Friday – Luke 2:33-35; Nehemiah4; John 15:18-27
Mary, Zechariah, the shepherds, the angels, and Simeon are praising God and filled with joy at the birth of Christ. Now we see a more somber note of falling and rising, of opposition, of Mary’s soul being pierced. How do we put these ideas of great joy and sorrow together in the birth of Christ?
