November 20, 2011 – Morning Worship

Monday Judges 20, 21
What do we learn about God’s judgment and grace in these two chapters?

Tuesday Judges 20:35a; 2 Kings 25; 2 Chronicles 36:15-21; Hebrews 12:3-11
Our gracious God brings judgment upon His people whom He loves. Why? For what purpose?

Wednesday Judges 20:18-28; Psalm 40:1, 2; Hebrews 10:19-22
No matter how we might suffer we still have hope. How do these passages show us this truth?

Thursday Judges 20:48-21:15; Ephesians 4:1-6; Colossians 3:12-14
There is an amazing and unexpected about-face when we go from Judges 20 to Judges 21. What is it? How does it apply to us?

Friday Judges 20:48-21:24; Genesis 19
Some scholars see an interesting similarity between the story of Sodom and that of the destruction of the tribe of Benjamin in Judges 20, 21. What do you think? What’s similar and what’s different? Do you see evidence of God’s mercy anywhere?

Saturday Psalm 78; Hosea 11:7-11; Romans 8:31-39; Philippians 1:6
Bottom line, God will not give up on His people – He will not let them go and will complete the work He started – in the church and in each of our lives.  Praise the Lord!  What’s the difference? Do we see God’s mercy in Benjamin’s situation?
